Eurosong alum ADGY returns for 2025 as third Irish hopeful

We have a Eurosong returnee on our hands!

Donegal-born ADGY has been announced as the third finalist in Eurosong 2025, in the bid to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

ADGY last took part in Eurosong 2023, coming in fifth place with the song ‘Too Good For Your Love‘ – getting 8 points from the International Jury, 4 points from the National Jury, and 4 points from the Public Vote.

After Eurosong 2023, he went traveling and eventually made his way back to London, where he has been writing music for the past year. A prolific songwriter with over 12 million streams, a deal with Universal Music Group, and a publishing deal with Spirit BMG under his belt, Adgy draws inspiration from his roots in the Donegal Gaeltacht

This time, ADGY is coming for the Eurosong crown, with his new song ‘Run into the Night‘ – and fun fact: It’s been produced by Ivan Klymenko, who co-wrote lyrics for Ukraine’s winning song in 2022, ‘Stefania‘!

Speaking on the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1, he described taking part in Eurosong 2023 as a “great experience”:

“I really really enjoyed it… took a lot from it. I didn’t think after show that it would be in my cards to do it again, but two years later – here I am!”

When asked about Klymenko’s involvement in the song, ADGY said that the demo for ‘Run into the Night’ was made prior to Eurovision 2024 in Malmö:

“My favourite performance on the show was Ukraine’s, and I thought to myself ‘whoever produced the song would be perfect for ‘Run into the Night‘… I sent him [Klymenko] the demo… he really looked the song, and he was happy to work on it.”

In terms of staging, ADGY revealed that his sister, Jenny, will join him on the Eurosong stage, and described the outfit he will be wearing as “celestial, ethereal”, likening it to the clothing worn in the 2021 movie ‘Dune‘.

ADGY will join five more acts in RTÉ studios on Friday February 7th on the Late Late Show’s Eurosong Special, to choose Ireland’s representative for Eurovision 2025.
