Erica Cody is a 27-year-old Irish singer-songwriter. She is a well-known and familiar face in Ireland having released several songs and appeared on various TV shows. From a young age performing was part of Erica’s life and she attended the Billie Bary Stage School as a teenager. She also studied music & vocals at the music college, BIMM Dublin. She started releasing her own music in 2017 with the song Addicted and her EP Leoness in 2019. She has also played at several festivals and supported acts such as Jessie J and En Vogue. Erica’s songs are a mix of R&B and hip hop, and she has been referred to as the Irish Aaliyah.
In 2020 Erica joined the Irish female collective of singers called Irish Women in Harmony and released a cover of the Cranberries song Dreams, in aid of a domestic abuse charity. Erica has fronted various campaigns against domestic abuse and racism, the latter is something she has openly discussed as she and her family have experienced racism. In 2022 Erica participated in Irish version of Dancing with the Stars and made it to the final.
Her song for Eurosong is Love Me Like I Do. The song is an up-tempo pop song and is slightly different to the usual R&B sound we are used to hearing from Erica. The song talks about self-love and how no one can love you better than you can love yourself. Erica also nods to her Irish upbringing with the inclusion of a couple of Irish words in the bridge of the song.
